Combining drums, percussion, eight-string guitar and saxophone, it is funk-influenced and emphasizes polyrhythmic grooves. Allmusic reviewer Sean Westergaard stated that with the release of Outre Mer Garage A Trois "evolved from a cool side project to a great band."
