Motown assembled a broader production team than for their debut, Cooleyhighharmony (1991), bringing in Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Tim & Bob, Tony Rich, Brian McKnight, and Babyface alongside previous collaborators Dallas Austin, Troy Taylor and Charles Farrar.
