This book is a manual, basically written for non-military personnel. It explains, in easy to understand words, how to fight against an occupation force. We have to keep in mind that this book was written during the so called cold war, as a major conflict in Western Europe was a possible event.

Hans von Dach (1926–2002) was a Swiss military theorist. He was the author of the influential seven-volume 1957 guerrilla warfare manual *Total Resistance* (*Der totale Widerstand: Eine Kleinkriegsanleitung für Jedermann*), which made him the internationally best-known Swiss tactical theorist.
