Boris Vian était un homme aux multiples talents : écrivain, poète, musicien, chanteur, traducteur, critique, acteur, inventeur et ingénieur. On se souvient surtout de lui pour des romans tels que *L’Écume des jours* et *L’Arrache-cœur.* Il est également connu pour ses romans policiers controversés, publiés sous le pseudonyme de Vernon Sullivan, et pour certaines de ses chansons (notamment *Le Déserteur,* chanson antimilitariste). Passionné de jazz, Vian a notamment servi d’intermédiaire à Duke Ellington et Miles Davis à Paris, a collaboré à plusieurs revues de jazz françaises *(Le Jazz Hot, Paris Jazz)* et a publié de nombreux articles sur le jazz aux États-Unis et en France. --- Boris Vian
