While the later levels can get infuriatingly challenging compared to the earlier ones, Supermarket Shriek has a great selection of game modes, a hilarious visual style, and excellent level design that had me consistently applauding the developer.

Add to that the hilarious Duet microphone control mode, and you really do have a conversation starter that won’t just break the ice, you’ll have next door banging on the door, wanting to see what all the excitement is about. With online leaderboards, downloadable ghosts, and an 8 player party mode, and it’s hard to see how you won’t enjoy this experience, certainly one to try (available on xbox Game Pass).

There are worse games that use these sorts of novelties, but it won't hold your attention for long.

As a single-player game, it struggled to keep my attention and the gameplay is fairly repetitive. But if you do have a spare friend and a couple of microphones to use there's potential for some good fun.
