Streets of Kamurocho is a retro-style beat 'em up game developed by Empty Clip Studios and published by SEGA. It was released as part of SEGA’s 60th anniversary celebration. The game combines the gameplay mechanics of Streets of Rage 2 with characters and themes from the Yakuza series, featuring pixel art versions of Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima fighting through the streets of Kamurocho.

Gamers HeroesCasey ScheldNov 202075/100Streets of Kamurocho pays great honor to both the Streets of Rage and Yakuza series of games. Though there is not much to this package, those weaned on beat-em-ups old and new will enjoy their brief jaunt in Tokyo.

WayTooManyGamesLeonardo FariaOct 20207/10You have to understand that Streets of Kamurocho isn’t a full game, but simply a nice little gift from Sega for us to enjoy. I still liked what little was available in here, though. I really hope that they’ll eventually decide to make an entire game with this exact premise, as Yakuza and old school beat ’em ups go together like peanut butter and jelly. I will never say no to more Yakuza in my life, especially when it’s free and pixelated.
