MKAU GamingAdam BrasherMay 20229/10This game has me super excited. I really am enjoying it, and as much as I do feel it is amazing, I feel it could still be better. This has probably been the thing I wracked my brain over the most as good and fun as it is, there was always something missing. Something not quite complete. Even now I am having trouble putting my finger on it. It is like every aspect that you could rate this game is only just off a perfect score. Maybe if it had a slightly bigger budget, or if it was backed by another studio or company that could have funded it more, I do not know that could have hurt it.

I would have been happy with a standard THQ Nordic styled remastered collection, but it was so much more. It was almost on the same level as the Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition, which I still hold as the gold standard of re-releases. There was so much love and care poured into every part of it, and in many ways it feels like a brand new game.

Digitally DownloadedMatt SainsburyApr 20243/5 starsSo, while Outward is certainly a port with limitations due to the platform, I’m not entirely sure I would have enjoyed it any more on any other console. Yes, there is a joy to being dropped in a big world and left to carve your own journey through it. Outward is a fundamentally appealing experience. The problem for Outward is that there other games that have done that with much more soul.
