Yes, it can take a bit to learn all of its elements and figure out how to create an excellent build. But once you do, you’ll become unstoppable, as you rush through enemies. Shape of Dreams feels very satisfying to play, there’s never a dull moment, and you’ll always feel the itch for one more run.

Rectify GamingVictor TanSep 20257/10Shape of Dreams is an easy-to-learn roguelike built for multiplayer sessions. Different characters work well together and it’s easy to assemble decent powers. Many of these powers are built for multiplayer and there’s little reason to pursue higher difficulties. It’s a solid roguelike with lots of fun but you do need friends to play effectively.

It counters the roguelike problem of early game frustration by giving players lots of powerful and impressive tools right from the start. The flow of combat and the variety of builds have a lot of depth. The bite-sized battles are perfectly paced, though probably more satisfying for a group than a solo player. Shape of Dreams definitely has that compulsive, “just one more run” element at its core, and it’s a great scaffold for more content down the line.
