Marisela Ocampo is a wealthy, beautiful, and intelligent young woman who feels a great void in her life, but then she meets Fernando Silva, a good, honest man from a respectable family. The two fall in love, but their families oppose the relationship: on one side is Marisela’s father, Miguel, who considers Fernando beneath his daughter and wants something better for her; on the other is Mercedes, Fernando’s sister, who harbors an unhealthy love for her own brother and refuses to see him happy with any woman; and to make matters worse, Paola, Marisela’s sister, becomes infatuated with Fernando and is unwilling to let her sister have him.
